ABOUT ME
For me, photography means looking more closely.
I am Julien Huber, a photographer from Munich, and I photograph out of passion. I am interested in animals, people, and places – and, above all, the fleeting moments in which a subject becomes a story.
MY PATH TO PHOTOGRAPHY
It all started with a camera.
When I was about twenty, my father gave me my first SLR camera. Ever since then, photography has been a part of my life, along with the joy of capturing my own perspective of the world in images.
From the very beginning, two passions were particularly easy to combine: traveling and the world of animals. Landscapes, zoos, and later wildlife became subjects I would naturally look out for.
I eventually came to wedding photography through friends who asked me to document their wedding day. This led to another area that still brings me joy today, especially because of the genuine, unplanned moments.

Animals. People. Places.
My photography spans a variety of themes. What connects them is the desire not merely to depict subjects, but to make their mood and character visible.
PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES AT HELLABRUNN ZOO
Teaching photography where the subjects are found.
Since 2024, I have been working with the Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, where I conduct photography workshops focused on wildlife photography.
The focus is not only on camera settings but, above all, on image composition, dealing with difficult conditions such as glass enclosures, and the question of how to turn a technically good shot into a compelling animal photograph. In addition to the regular courses, there is now also an advanced course.
I am very grateful to the zoo for this collaboration and am proud to be a part of it.

I am not only interested in spectacular subjects. Often, it is a look, a special quality of light, a small movement, or a brief unobserved moment that makes an image special to me.
That is exactly what I look for – whether with an animal, at a wedding, or somewhere in a landscape.
